Otaki Attractions and Location

Location of Otaki and Wellington, New Zealand

The township of Otaki offers a large array of designer-label factory shops, a short walk from the motel. Antique shops abound, for those who love to search for precious treasures, and there is a large selection of well-equipped nurseries and garden centres at which to buy plants and 'knick-knacks'.

There are many beautiful private gardens, a number of which are open to visitors. You can also take time out to enjoy the nature reserves, lagoon walks, museums, farm shows, bird sanctuaries and sun-drenched sandy beaches of the Kapiti Coast.

If excitement and action is what you are after, the Tararua Ranges offer bush walks, tramping, 4WD biking, white-water rafting and kayaking. There are cycle and walking tracks that follow the coastline from Paekakariki to Otaki. The motel is particularly handy to Otaki Forks, a popular tourist destination.

Cottage Park Motel is an ideal Interislander ferry stopover as it is only 55 minutes from Wellington and all its attractions.
